I often use hair gel for my curls but I know it can build up. If I pre-oil before I shampoo, will it also lock in the gel and product build up?

I’ve used that argan oil, miracle oil, and coconut milk serum for a decade at this point. The coconut serum is my go to for pre wash and before bleaching. Makes a huge difference when I get my highlights.
The ogx dries out my hair when I use it pre shampoo. Idk why. I always try it and sure enough, Everytime my hair feels so dry when I use it. The bumble and bumble hair oil is definitely what works for me and worked for my hair extensions when I had them a few years ago. No one for Mielle? I have my scalp a massage with Mielle’s rosemary oil for a week or two after a double process and separate day toning treatment that made my head itch like crazy. My hair survived with flying colors AND my roots grew out almost half an inch already.
The ogx is just silicones basically. Gives u the impression that the feels is amazing but it is just surface products, can clog the hair and more than that nothing nourishing that can help the hair grow. That is a no no for me .
For the people who use oil mists: how tf do you avoid your bathroom turning into a slip n slide? I can’t clean my whole bathroom every time I use a mist but also I‘m too clumsy to have that superfine oil layer on the tiled floor. One of these days I’ll break my neck

I’ve totally stopped using OTC drugstore products on my hair. My stylist used Oribe on my hair for my wedding, and I’ve never looked back since.
So that explains why your hair is so flat around your head. I will avoid those oil products you recommend.
