I am indian and my whole life i have used coconut oil… i just tried checking the porosity of my hair and got to know that i have low porosity hair and i am not suppose to use coconut oil at all….
This trick to check porosity is really mot relevant. Instead what you can do is, after you was your hair, let it air dry and count the time to see how long it takes to dry your hair completely. If it takes longg time zyou have low porosity z if it takes a lot less time you have high porosity and if it takes avg time you have medium porosity
If you just simply put it on water it simply stays floated too, even after 15mins. But if u put and press into water instantly it actually sinks all the way to the bottom.
So what level of my hair porosity then?? 😂
I guess some people are right about a tiny hair cannot strongly penetrate into water so this way not really works.

Omg my hair is low porosity and ive been using rosemary oil the whole time! Luckily i have 4 huge shampoo packs of l’oreal jojoba oil
I have high porosity, which makes sense because my hair has been bleached/dyed several times
I used coconut oil for my high porosity hair before i ever figured out i actually have it
And it helped to make my hair silky and get the knots out
